Taipei Marathon Sustainable Development Declaration and Commitment

Taipei Marathon shares the world's net-zero emission vision and promises to integrate with the World Athletics (WA) sustainable environmental strategy, continuing to promote and practice green and low-carbon without affecting the quality of the event, and move towards the goal of environmental sustainability. It is our unshirkable responsibility to implement sustainable event management, actions and experience inheritance.

1. Determination and Progress

The event prioritizes planning and uses integrated sustainable development thinking to achieve environmental sustainability through innovation, re-engineering, and sustainable inheritance.

2. Action and Capability

Formulate plans, actively integrate with national and international standards through regional cooperation, and solicit opinions from multiple stakeholders to accumulate action capabilities towards sustainable development.

3. Responsibility and Honor

Formulate and implement sustainable development strategies, and create sustainable events for runners and citizens through a clear vision. We also expand our sustainability efforts through cooperation with enterprises, witnessing the joint efforts of the government and private enterprises to defend the honor of environmental sustainability.

4. Participation and Achievement

Establish a multi-party interactive system, adopt publicity and training methods, continue the sustainable and balanced development of events and the environment, and jointly move towards the sustainable goal.

 

Sustainable Goals-

1. Based on "Global Vision, Taipei Action", connect the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
2. Convey the concept of sustainable events and establish common goals with participants.
3. Actively reduce the use of energy, resources and waste, and use renewable and alternative energy.
4. Work with relevant enterprises to jointly promote green resources.
5. From 2023 to 2027, the total carbon reduction target of more than 20%.
