1. Priority Registration for Qualified Runners

Participants who meet the requirement of having finished a certified race within a specific timeframe (please refer to Table 2) are to register between July 7th (Friday) at 16:00 and July 11th (Tuesday) at 14:00 on the event page. Proof of race completion must be uploaded while registering. Once confirmed qualified, you will receive a confirmation email. Registration and payment for qualified runners must be completed between July 14th (Friday) at 10:00 and July 18th (Tuesday) at 17:00.

2. Visually Impaired Runners

Please apply with valid proof documents, registration form, registration fee, information of the guide runner. Application must be submitted, and registration completed between July 7th (Friday) at 16:00 and July 13th (Thursday) at 17:00.
(1) Visually impaired runners who wish to participate in the race must register with a guide runner. Each visually impaired runner in the full marathon group must have at least 1 to a maximum of 4 guide runners, and 1 to a maximum of 2 guide runners in the half marathon group. Guides are only allowed to alternate at 10K/20K/30K mark based on what is specified on the registration form.
(2) In case where the registration form and documents or the payment of entry fee is incomplete, the application will be declined. Guide runners must register with visually impaired runners. Guide runners who choose to pay for the race will have their time recorded and receive registrant’s gift bag. Guide runners who choose to not pay for the race event will not have their time recorded nor will they receive a gift bag; only the bib and pins will be provided.
(3) Guide runners are to report to the referee at designated time on the day of the event. If the guide runners appears to be different from whom was initially registered, both the visually impaired runner and the guide runner will not be eligible to participate in the event
※ If the registrants who meet the above qualifications have incomplete registration information, inconsistent proof documents, or insufficient payment, the registration will be declined and registration fee refunded. Additional charges such as transaction fee and administrative fee arising from it will be borne by the registrant and deducted from the total refund.
※ Please note that the review process of the registration will take longer than usual. Make sure all information is filled out correctly and carefully. The Organizer will not be responsible for any late re-submissions due to return of registration documents. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Payment by MASTERCARD, VISA, and JCB of any amount is accepted. To avoid duplicate payments, please do not click repeatedly on the “CONFIRM PAYMENT” button. Cancellation Policy

1. Refund Procedure:Please fill out the application form and notify Chinese Taipei Road Running Association (Office Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30AM to 12:00PM and 01:30PM to 05:30PM) by calling (02) 2585-5659 before Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 and have the refund application form submitted before 5PM. Your refund application will be accepted should there be no conflicts. Refund amount will be 80% of the original payment. If remittance was chosen as the payment method, another NTD $30 will be deducted as transaction fee. No late application will be accepted.

Notice

1. Please be sure to conduct a health assessment before the race. No changes can be done once registration form has been submitted and approved. Eligibility is non-transferrable. In case where you wish to register for another group instead, you may only do so by first requesting for a refund and register again if the race category still has slots available. For size exchange, please contact CTRRA (02-2585-5659) before 17:00 on October 29th, 2021. No exchange will be available after the deadline.
2. Only those who have fully completed the registration process will be eligible for the race. No plus-ones allowed.
3. All personal information, including gender, are collected by the organizer based on Identification Card (or passport) provided.
4. The Organizers reserve the right to publish or broadcast any video, photographs or other types of materials recorded at this event for the purpose of reporting and promoting its activities. Non-authorized photographers and videographers are prohibited from entering the race track.

Check-In and packet Pick-Up(Please select from the following methods during registration)

(A)Personal check-in prior to race day

1. Date & Time:December 14th to 15th, 2023 from 13:00PM to 20:00PM ; December 16h, 2023, 11:00AM to 18:00PM.
2. Place:Taipei Expo Park – EXPO Dome (No.1, Yumen St., Zhongshan Dist., Taipei)
i. A packet pick-up notice will be sent to you by email from CTRRA one week beforehand. Please have the receipt number and a piece of photo ID ready with you.
ii. If a runner cannot personally attend packet pickup, a friend or family member may pick up the packet by providing the runner’s ID number and the receipt number. The person picking up the packet will also need to show their photo ID for inspection.
iii. If you fail to receive a pick-up notice by email from CTRRA, the pick-up number can also be found on the CTRRA website by searching at the Registration Inquiry section. Receipt number can also be retrieved by the help of staff on with your ID number.
iv. If neither of the above mentioned works for you, you will not be able to participate in the race without a bib and timing chip. You may collect your race packet at CTRRA (Room 206, 2/F, No.55, Changji St., Datong District, Taipei City) within a week after the race day from December 18th to 22nd, 2023 (08:30AM – 12:00PM ; 13:30PM – 17:30PM). No reservation and no late comers.

(B)Delivery of Race Packet by Postal Service

*Please note that the delivery service is only available within Taiwan and a postal fee must be paid in addition to the registration fee.
i. The CTRRA will be mailing out the race packet by post to those who chose to receive it in the mail starting from December 7th to December 12th, 2023, to the address indicated during registration. Please be sure to provide correct mailing address in order to avoid any chance of unsuccessful delivery.
ii. If the packet is unable to be delivered due to an improper address or nobody was able to sign for its receipt upon delivery thereby resulting in the participant being unable to take part in the event, the package will not be re-sent, but the participant may pick up the registrant’s packet (not the finisher’s packet) at CTRRA office in the following week after the race (December 18th to 22nd, 2023) during working hours (Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 12:00PM and 13:30PM to 17:30PM). After this period, the packet will be disposed.
iii. Postal fee: NTD120 within Taiwan per person/NTD170 for Taiwan offshore islands. 
iv. Once you have received your race packet in the mail, your check-in procedure is completed. Please arrive at the race venue on December 17th, 2023 on time.
v. No packet pick-up on event day. All entrants who fail to pick-up their race packet before the race day shall be withdrawn from the race. 

Cash Prizes and Awards

Cash Prizes:Cash prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers. The 2023 Taipei Marathon will offer same amount of total cash prize to male and female groups. Top 10 male and female, and top 3 male and female visually impaired runners in the full marathon group will be awarded. In the half marathon group, top 3 male and female, and top 3 male and female visually impaired runners will be awarded. Please see below table for prize breakdown.

Note: 
1. If the amount of cash awarded is more than NT$19,999, then 10% tax will be deducted for winners who are citizens of Taiwan and 20% tax will be deducted for non-citizen winners (please bring a photocopy of ID).
2. Top 8 winners, per gender, in the full marathon group are required to contribute 2% levy on prize money for the drug testing fund (2% withheld and paid by CTRRA).

1. Trophies and Gift:For the full marathon group, all age group divisions having between 1-100 entrants will have gifts and trophies awarded to the top two finishers, 101-200 entrants will have gifts and trophies awarded to the top three finishers, 201-300 entrants will have gifts and trophies awarded to the top four finishers, and over 300 entrants will have gifts and trophies awarded to the top five finishers.
2. Please have your race bib and a piece of photo ID with you when claiming your prize. All prize winners shall pick-up and claim their prizes before the closing time at 12PM on the day of the race event or else their prizes will be regarded as forfeited.
3. All runners who completed the marathon and half-marathon within the cut-off times will be given a finisher’s medal and a towel (violators are not included). Official race results will be posted and announced on the CTRRA website three days after the day of competition (www.sportsnet.org.tw). As part of the global effort in conserving natural resources and protecting our natural environment, race completion certificates shall not be mailed to participants but instead each race participant can download their race completion certificates from CTRRA website. Only those participants who completed their race within the cut-off times will be issued race completion certificates. Please provide your email address correctly while registering to ensure the accessibility of downloading your race completion certificate from the website.
 

Anti-Doping Regulations

(1) In compliance with international anti-doping regulations, marathon winners will undergo a series of drug tests. Prize money will then be transferred if result is proven negative. Any violation of the anti-doping rules may result in disqualification and loss of results achieved during the event. Once the disqualified participant’s hearing is completed, the ranking and the issuing of prize money will be adjusted. 

(2) Participating runners are obligated to undergo a doping test. Those who refuse to get tested or are tested positive violates the anti-doping regulations. For more information, please refeof the Chinese Taipei Athletics Association at https://www.athletics.org.tw/.

Chip Timing

A. 2023 Taipei Marathon adopts the chip timing system to track and record the results. All registrants should pay NT$100 as a chip deposit in addition to the registration fee when registering, which will be refunded after the race. Registrants who complete the registration procedures should collect number bibs, souvenirs, and a chip when collecting the race packet before the race. Runners can have their deposit refunded at the “Chip Return” booth at Taipei Municipal Stadium – Warm Up Field when they return the chip. Runners can also return the chip in person at CTRRA office from December 18th to 22nd after the race. If the chip is not returned before the 22nd by end of office hours, the deposit will not be refunded. Detailed instructions on how to fasten and use the chip will be provided beforehand. Should you need further assistance on how to use your chip, officials and volunteers on site will be available to help.
B. As per the International Association of Athletics Foundation(WA) regulations (Article19.24.5), gun times shall be used to for calculating the race times as well as for the placing results.
C. No exchanging of chips, wearing another person’s chip or wearing more than one chip will be permitted. Any of such violations will disqualify you from the race.
D. Please be sure that your chip is fastened properly and that you step on the chip timing mats located along the course route while running your race.
E. Please take your own physical ability into account at the start and as a courtesy give priority to faster runners by allowing them to line up in front of you.
F. CTRRA has the right to forfeit or discard any results in which participants have not crossed the starting line within 15 minutes after the race has officially started.

Violations

(1) Competitors who commit the following violations listed below will have their races results disqualified from the competition.

a. Illegally receiving drink or food from another party (you may only receive drink or food provided by the organizers). 
b. Not wearing a bib number which matches with the race timing chip, or not following the instructions for fastening the chip on your shoe. 
c. Not having a chip time recorded at the starting mat, finishing mat or other chip time-checking points. 
d. Not complying with the race official’s instructions. 
e. Not wearing the racing bib number in the front area of the chest. 
f. Using in-line skates, skateboards, strollers or any other rolling devices, etc. on the race course.
g. Bringing a pet (dog or cat) on the race course. 
h. Improper usage of the race timing chip (please follow the instructions for fastening your chip).

(2)Competitors who commit the following violations listed below will have their results disqualified from the competition plus they will banned from participating in Taipei Marathon for one year.

1. Receiving assistance from another person or party during the competition. 
2. Using false ID information during registration. 
3. Violating the spirit of the activity event (causing a disturbance or insulting officials and staff, etc.). 
4. Using a substitute or non-registered runner to run for you during the race competition. If it is verified that someone else is using your identity to run the race, then besides being disqualified from the race and being banned from participating in Taipei Marathon for a period of one year, the violator identities and pictures will also be publicly announced on related websites.

 

Disputes

(a) Competition disputes: during the race competition, competitors may not dispute the referees and officials. 

(b) Dispute procedure: any dispute concerning the competition should be brought to the organizers attention within ten minutes after finishing the race and at the same time a deposit of NT$3,000 must be submitted. If the judges of the review committee concludes that the dispute is not justified, then the NT$3,000 deposit shall not be returned.

a)Bag Check for Personal Belongings

Since the start and finish lines are located differently, in order to effectively transport the athletes storage bags to the venue at finish line, please be mindful of the storage time.

1. Participants must use the red storage bag as above or similar type of the bag with the same specification. See example.

B:Clear pocket for inserting bag storage card:L23cm*W15cm,±3cm)
2. You may purchase the storage bag for NTD250 (water proof) on the race day or when you pick up your race pack at the Marathon Expo.The CTRRA storage bag can be used repeatedly at any of CTRRA events.
3. Please do not store any electronic /fragile items, valuable goods, fresh food, long handle umbrella and dangerous goods.
4. The event organizers shall not be liable for the loss of any personal items.

b)Time Checkpoints

Time checkpoints will be set throughout the course based on transport safety, security, and our operations and logistics requirements. Entrants who arrive at the checkpoint well after the designated closing time will be asked to withdraw from the race and to board the sweeper bus.

c)Safety

♦The organizers will take into consideration all factors such as typhoons and other possible natural disasters for ensuring the safety of all participants. If the race is cancelled due to safety reasons, participants do not have the right to protest such a decision, and registrants will be entitled to a 70% refund of the registration fee. (Extra NT$30 for the wire transfer fee will be charged if needed).
♦The referees or doctors have the right to stop any runner from continuing depending on his/her physical 
condition, road safety, etc. 
 
D) Please bring your ID information with you to the race event.
E) All Participants must be in good health to register for the race. Do not register if there are health concerns such as cadiovascular diseases, diabetes, etc. The organizers will not be held responsible for persons concealing such conditions.
F) Runners participating in the race will be using a timing chip to record their times. Please follow the instructions on how to use the chip and fasten it onto your shoe properly. CTRRA will not be responsible for improper or faulty usage of the chip. REMEMBER, NO CHIP, NO TIME!
G) Please store your bib and chip properly after picking up your race packet . Lost chips will not be replaced. Runners without a bib and chip will not be permitted to enter the race. 
H) The organizers reserve the right to publish or broadcast any video, photographs or other types of materials recorded at this event for the purpose of reporting and promoting its activities.
I) In order to make a contribution to environmental protection, the programme will not be published in paper, but instead may be referenced on the official website.
J) Please be sure to follow instructions from the traffic officials and referees along the race course and at all turns and intersections throughout the race.
K) Runners who are participating on behalf of another individual or as a transferee shall be responsible for joint several liability of insurance claims if an accident occurs.
L) Any further announcements or revisions to these regulations will be announced by the event organizers.
M) The organizers reserves the copyright for all images and videos and the race results of 2023 Taipei Marathon.
N) Latest “2023 Taipei Marathon” activities and announcements will be available on the official website www.taipeicitymarathon.com
